We're excited to welcome you to the Wildcat Family

Now that you’re admitted to CWU, it's important to complete these next steps to finalize the enrollment process.

  • Confirm Enrollment

    Your first step as an admitted student is to confirm your enrollment in your Applicant Portal.

    Log in to your Applicant Portal to view your admission "Status Update", accept your admission using the "Confirm your Enrollment" button, then select your preferred orientation date. We recommend confirming your enrollment early, but the priority deadline to confirm is May 1 (for fall term). Log in to your Applicant Portal using the same email and password you used to apply for admission.

    Next, create your new MyCWU.edu student account. Your MyCWU.edu account will be your primary account for, signing-up for housing, registering for classes, and more. If you have any trouble creating your MyCWU.edu account, contact the CWU Service Desk at +1-509-963-2001.

    Action Items:

    • Log in to your Applicant Portal
    • Confirm your Enrollment
    • Create your new MyCWU.edu Account
    • International First - Year students pay your non-refundable $400 enrollment deposit. Once the quarter begins, your deposit will be dispersed to your student account to cover tuition charges. Payments to be made online using your CWU Student ID and labeling payment as International Deposit.

  • Secure Housing

    Ellensburg Campus: Like many universities, at CWU all first-year students must live on campus. Transfer students are not required to live on campus. Housing and Residence Life at Ellensburg campus offers traditional residence halls, a transfer-dedicated Living Learning Community, studios, one, two, and three bedroom apartments. You can even live in the International House Living Learning Community! Don't forget to learn more about our 15+ CWU dining locations and meal plan options before you apply.

    University Centers: International students can live in on-campus housing at our Lynnwood and Des Moines campuses. Housing is offered through the host institution.

  • Complete F1 Student Visa Process

    International students outside US:

    International students inside US:

    • Submit immigration and financial documents, and complete steps to transfer your SEVIS record to CWU to obtain your new document I20.

    Action Item:

    • Please note for all International First - Year students, the $400 enrollment deposit must be received before your document I20 can be issued.

  • Plan Arrival to CWU

    Review airport, shuttle, and arrival information to plan your arrival to CWU-Ellensburg campus.

  • Submit Proof of Health Insurance

    CWU requires all international students to have health insurance. Review additional information about health insurance plan options and steps to submit proof of insurance.

  • Attend Orientation

    International Student Orientation is required for all incoming international students.

  • Prepare for First Day of Class

    Final Transcripts

    • CWU requires all final, official transcripts before you start your first day of class. You can have these mailed directly to CWU, bring with you to orientation in a sealed, never opened envelope, or have your previous institution send them directly to CWU electronically. If you are receiving an international student scholarship, this award cannot be posted to your account until all final, official transcripts are received.

    Textbooks

    • There are two options for ordering textbooks. Students may purchase the books online from the CWU University Bookstore or they may purchase them a third-party.
    • Students who want to use their financial aid to purchase textbooks MUST use the CWU University Store option. Both bookstores sell CWU sweatshirts, t-shirts and various school supplies.


    Student E-mail Account

    • Every student admitted to CWU has access to a free CWU Outlook email account. Outlook is the main e-mail source for CWU students. It will be important for you to check your CWU e-mail on a regular basis. 


    CWU Connection Card

    • Your CWU Connection Card will allow you to check out materials from the library, use the computer lab, and obtain discounts at some movie theaters. Just go to the CWU Card office, get your picture taken, and you'll be connected.


    Disability Services

    • Disability Services (DS) is in partnership with Central Washington University and is dedicated to creating an inclusive university culture that celebrates diversity. DS provides individuals with disabilities an equal opportunity to fully participate in and benefit from all aspects of the education environment.
