Portrait of Monique Heller

- Monique Heller | Weyerhaeuser
Monique Heller currently serves as Vice President, Internal Audit at Weyerhaeuser, headquartered in Seattle, WA. She joined Weyerhaeuser in 2016 and has held several roles within Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting, most recently serving as Director, Corporate Accounting. She also served as the finance lead in building out the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) team for the company. Prior to Weyerhaeuser, she worked at KPMG’s audit practice serving several large, public engagements. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and graduated with a double major in Accounting and Finance from Central Washington University.

In her words: "I have two main pieces of advice that I like to give to students and mentees: 1) Build your network and 2) Seek and value feedback. Building your network allows you to build relationships throughout the organization. Those relationships will be invaluable in teaching you where to go to ask questions, will build a great foundation for later projects/issues that may come up with those departments and leaving you feeling much more connected to the company and people you work with each day. Seeking and valuing feedback is a sometimes an overlooked trait, however if you don’t receive feedback it will be really hard to understand what you can work on next. Ultimately, your career is a journey and there is always something new to learn or work on. Being in the habit of seeking that feedback and seeing it as positive (not a negative) will put you in a great mindset to continuously grow and improve throughout your career. "
