Careers and Opportunities

With the rapid growth of the renewable energy sector on the west coast, there is a high demand for professionals with a background in energy business, and job prospects are promising.

  • Employment in the renewable energy industry in Washington state is expected to grow significantly over the next decade. Projections show that jobs in wind energy are expected to grow by 51.6% between 2020 and 2030.
  • The state of Washington has set ambitious clean energy goals. For example, the state's Clean Energy Transformation Act (CETA) requires that all retail electricity sales in the state be generated from 100% clean energy sources by 2045.

In addition to these careers, graduates of an Energy Business, BS degree program can also pursue further education in related fields, such as an MBA or a graduate degree in energy or environmental policy.
