Student Organizations
As you navigate your way through your aviation studies, becoming a part of student organizations can enhance your educational experience and future career prospects. Take, for example, the Air Line Pilots Association's (ALPA) ACE Club, which provides opportunities for networking, mentorship, and professional development, offering a rich understanding of the airline industry and a direct connection to working pilots. Similarly, the Women in Aviation International (WAI) is a vital organization if you're a woman aspiring to join the aviation industry. WAI promotes the advancement of women in all aviation career fields and interests, and its local chapters often offer additional scholarships and support. For those of you interested in the management side of aviation, the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) provides resources and networking opportunities focused on the business and operational aspects of running an airport. Additionally, consider joining the Aviation Living Learning Community, where you can live and study alongside fellow aviation students. Not only does this provide a built-in study group, but it also fosters a supportive community where shared experiences and ambitions can help propel your success in the aviation field.

Joining a club as a student is a great way to meet people with similar interests and participate in exclusive opportunities. Central has aviation-specific organizations which are open to all students on campus.
ALPA ACE Club

The ALPA ACE Club is a student-led organization sponsored by the Air Line Pilots Association, Intl. We have the goal of promoting a culture of professionalism and safety today for the pilots of tomorrow through ALPA pilot-led presentations, field trips, workshops, and seminars. The ALPA ACE Club at CWU also has the goal of enabling students interested in a career in aviation to network with pilots at various carriers on both a professional and personal level all while not charging members a dime.
For more information, visit ALPA ACE Club's website.
Women in Aviation International, CWU Chapter

Women in Aviation International (WAI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of women in all aviation career fields and interests. Although originally founded upon and still deeply values the advancement of women in the aviation industry, it welcomes both men and women. The Central Washington University chapter of WAI seeks to allow all aviation students to have opportunities to network with aviation professionals, fellow peers and students. We accomplish this by attending the National WAI Conference, sponsoring aviation professionals at Central, participating in volunteer activities, and by simply hosting fun events that encourage more students to interact with one another and build on the family atmosphere that we have here at CWU.
For more information, visit the Women in Aviation website.
American Association of Airport Executives

The American Association of Airport Executives is the world's largest professional organization for airport executives, representing airport management personnel at public-use commercial and general aviation airports. AAAE was founded in 1928. Visit the CWU Student Chapter of the AAAE Facebook page.
Aviation Living Learning Community
The Aviation Living Learning Community (LLC) was designed to bridge students' academic interest with their residence hall living experience. Students are able to live together in the same residence hall and develop personal and academic relationships with other students and aviation faculty. Some exciting things the LLC have done include trips to Boeing field to the Museum of Flight, study sessions for upcoming flight tests and stage checks, and many more things.
