Outreach Coordinator:
I'm the outreach coordinator for the Veterans Center here at CWU. The CWU Veterans Center was founded in 2009, and our mission is to support our students. Usually, that support comes in the form of certification services. Having VA resources available anytime I have a question—whether it’s “How about this?” or “What about that?”—has been invaluable.

For someone like me, who may be a little more nontraditional in utilizing government assistance, their support has been incredible. The Veterans Center is often the first stop for many service members transitioning back to civilian life and into university.

Our services help students focus on their studies rather than the financial obligations that come with attending college. As a CWU alum myself, I utilized the Veterans Center, and it was instrumental in building a sense of community and amplifying my support system. One of the main goals here is to help students build their post-military identities.
