Writing Center StaffThe consultants are peers who are writers themselves and are enthused about talking about writing. Most are graduate students. Some are undergraduates who have gone through a two-quarter training program. A couple of faculty members also are consultants. Writing Center Staff BiosWriting Center ContactsApplying to be a ConsultantWriters with bachelor's or master's degrees can apply for hourly positions by sending a letter of application, a resume, and a list of references. Incoming graduate students can talk with the Writing Center Director about applying for a graduate assistantship. Undergraduate writers can talk to the director about taking English 402: Writing Center and Theory, then a practicum; after that, they may apply to be paid writing consultants. Vision StatementCentral Washington University is a community of writers, facilitated by the University Writing Center. Writing consultants guide their peers toward communication that will be effective in a global and diverse environment, during and after their studies at CWU. |
