How to use a condom

Latex condoms are the only form of protection that is effective for preventing pregnancy, HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections. When used correctly every time you have sex, latex condoms help prevent pregnancy and reduce the risk of catching or spreading many sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Learn how to use a condom effectively before using condoms. Failure to do so may result in losing the benefits that condoms provide. Be aware that during intimate contact various body fluids can transmit STDs so use a condom every time before any such contact occurs to protect yourself and your partner. We believe that personal awareness, communication and access to safer sex information are the keys to the sexual health.

Roll on. If the penis is not circumcised, put the foreskin back before putting the condom on. Pinch the receptable tip of the condom between your thumb and forefinger. This prevents air from becoming trapped at the tip of the condom and leaves an empty space to collect semen. Place the rolled-up condom against the end of the hard penis. Unroll the condom down the base of the penis with your other hand. Remove any air remaining in the tip of the condom by gently pressing the air out towards the base of the penis.
