Web Development : Validating Your Pages |
W3C Validator WebsiteBackground InformationThe World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) was created in October 1994 to lead the World Wide Web to its full potential by developing common protocols that promote its evolution and ensure its interoperability. W3C has around 400 Member organizations from all over the world and has earned international recognition for its contributions to the growth of the Web. The new Web language that CWU is using for its Web pages is XHTML, a recommendation by the W3C. XHTML is a combination of HTML and XML, which is useful now and for the future. XHTML pages can be read by all XML enabled devices and while waiting for the rest of the world to upgrade to XML supported browsers, XHTML gives you the opportunity to write "well-formed" documents now, that work in all browsers and that are backward browser compatible. So how do you know if your pages are correctly coded and "well-formed"? With the W3C's free online MarkUp Validator. How to Use the Validator
