News:CWU art student Tanya Pierson received a Birkin Owart Arts and Humanities Grant for her project “It’s a Dog’s Life”. The project: provide 4 life-size concrete dog sculptures for the new off-leash dog park that will be included in the Rotary Park extension. These sculptures will be dedicated and placed in the park in Spring 2013. Tanya will be presenting at SOURCE and a downtown venue.

News:Congratulations! CWU Art student Caytlyn Chilelli won Third Place at the AIGA student show last weekend for her “San Francisco Coffee identity project”.

News:CWU senior art major Katie Berberick has recently received three awards. Katie received a C. Farrell Scholarship for Research and Fine Arts for her project, “An Image of the City". The project will be exhibited in the 420 Loft Gallery in downtown Ellensburg in June. Katie also received the "Gold Grant Scholarship Lee Wexler Memorial Art Award" from The Northwest Watercolor Foundation. And lastly, Katie received a Travel Grant from the Office of Undergraduate Research. This grant will support Katie’s travel to the University of New Mexico where she will present her thesis, "Edgar Degas: The Practice and Process of Painting" at the Western Regional Honors Conference April 14-16.

News:Cassandra Lea, Christopher Mayer, and David Lambo received a Silver ADDY® Award in the 2008 Northwest ADDY® Awards Competition. They were awarded for their work titled "Imagination — Build Yours" a television commercial for Lego. The award they received was one of only 7 student awards and only 136 total awards given out, out of a pool of over 700 entrants.

News:Graphic Design student, Tyler Johnson is the brains behind this years summer session theme 'Rock Your Summer. 'The University Rockers' started in July '07 and pitched the notion to the Office of Contiuning Ed as a way to get students to pay attention to the program's benefits. The band's single "Rock Your Summer" will be aired on KCWU 88.1 The 'Burg! Way to go Tyler!
