October 1, 2009

ELLENSBURG, Wash. — One of the fastest rising young comedians around takes the stage at Central Washington University Friday night, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. in the SURC Ballroom.

Funny man Marcus, the 2008 runner-up and audience favorite of NBC’s hit television series “Last Comic Standing” and winner of the 2007 Seattle International Comedy Competition, is a one-of-a-kind talent whose high energy, rock n’ roll based comedy has captured the attention of millions. He will take part in the Best of the Northwest Comedy Show, presented by CWU Campus Activities. The performance also showcases comedians Dax Jordan of Portland, Ore. and Drew Barth of Seattle to round out this evening of high-energy comedy.

Marcus began his comedy career in radio, voicing hundreds of commercials and putting in thousands of hours of live radio doing celebrity impressions for stations all over the country before making the move to the comedy stage. He combines his quick wit and unique style of writing into a show that has gained a growing international fan base. Samples of Marcus' comedy show can be seen at www.myspace.com/comedianmarcus.
