CWU Students Will Head Downtown for 50th Annual Bite of the ‘Burg TuesdaySeptember 21, 2009 Ellensburg, Wash. — Downtown Ellensburg restaurants and shops will put their eats and wares out onto the streets Sept. 22 as part of the Ellensburg Chamber of Commerce’s 50th annual Bite of the ‘Burg. The event, to run from 2 to 5 p.m., is held every year right before the start of Central Washington University classes as a way to welcome new and returning students to Ellensburg. It helps first-year students get familiar with their new home, while providing returning students with a chance to reunite and catch up. The food is always free, and there will also be prizes, including a new laptop, vintage cars and DJs from 88.1 The ‘Burg spinning tunes. More than 50 businesses, nonprofits and departments from CWU will participate in the event. All students are encouraged to check out Bite of the ‘Burg, get familiar with Ellensburg and try at a chance to win some big prizes.
