Theatre Arts Department: Scholarships

This year the faculty and staff of the Theatre Arts Department will be visiting schools throughout Washington state discussing scholarships for students of promise, based on audition / interview and recommendations from their Drama teachers. The Theatre Arts Department is pleased to offer a variety of annual scholarship opportunities. Click on the links below for more information and application procedures:

• Dr. Betty Evans Shakespeare Scholarship Study classical acting in Britain for one year. (Offered every other year. Anticipated 2010-11)
• A. James Hawkins Children's Theatre Scholarship(anticipated 2010-11)
• David L. Boushey Scholarship (anticipated 2010-11)
• Paulette Bond Memorial Scholarship (anticipated for 2010-11)
• Talent Awards (5 Full tuition waivers and 4 $1000 awards are anticipated for 2010-11)
• Freshmen and Transfer Housing Awards (15 anticipated for 2010-11))

There are also several exciting CWU scholarship opportunities available outside of the Department, including the Farrell Scholarship, which will fund creative projects, and associated tuition and books for up to three quarters. In order to reserve an audition or interview space all BFA and scholarship candidates must fill out the appropriate application materials. Upon receipt of your application appointment times will be e-mailed to you, beginning January 1.

The Department of Theatre Arts at Central Washington University also offers the Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts* for students seeking a holistic learning approach leading to a myriad of careers in theatre and beyond.
* No audition/interview is required for admission into the BA program, scholarships are available.
