The Master of Arts in Theatre Production is a unique limited-residency
graduate program designed for you, the working teacher. Presented
within the context of the Summer Institute for Theatre Arts, courses
are offered every summer from mid-June to mid-July. The MA program
is designed to help English and drama teachers refine and enhance
the skills needed to teach and produce theatre successfully in the
schools. Required courses are designed specifically for the secondary
and middle school setting and include study in stage technology,
teaching acting skills, acquiring basic learning activities, and
creating a curriculum for drama program development. All candidates
will complete a minimum of 56 quarter-hours including an approved
Creative Project (thesis) presented at their home school or other
