Scrooge's Christmas

The family-friendly holiday classic A Christmas Carol returns to
CWU with Professor Michael J. Smith starring as Scrooge. Charles
Dickens’ beloved ghost story with a heart of gold has been adapted
by Ken Jones into a 90 minute production filled with fun and magical
surprises for the whole family. This CTE biennial tradition, features
traditional Dickensian settings and costumes, mixed with some modern-day
special effects, and a large dose of feel-good holiday music.
This production is suitable for family audiences but ghosts may
be frightening to young children. Children who cannot sit independently
for 90 minutes should not attend this production. For the enjoyment
of all audience members babies in arms are not permitted.

CWU Students:
Sept. 23 at 7:30pm in the Tower Theatre
Actors are asked to prepare one monologue of one minute in length
of contemporary material in a serio-comic style. Monologues should
be memorized and audition slots will be given out on a first come
first served basis.

Community:
Community auditions will be held Sept. 25 at 5:30 p.m.
in McConnell Auditorium. Two adults and three to four children will
be cast. None of the roles are gender specific and everyone is welcome
to participate, however children must be old enough to read the
script to participate in the production.
Those auditioning will be asked to read a provided scene and may
be asked to sing part of a holiday tune a cappella. “No advance
preparation is required,” says Director Keith Edie. “We are just
looking for people of all ages who are willing and able to have
fun and imagine.”
Rehearsals begin Sept. 28 and will be held Tuesday through Friday
evenings and most Saturday afternoons until opening. Performances
are Nov. 20 and 21 and Dec. 4 and 5 at 7 p.m., Nov. 21 and Dec.
5 and 6 at 2 p.m. There is also a weekday matinee for school groups
on Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. Those with schedule conflicts on performance
dates should not audition.
