Milo Smith Tower Theatre 2005
Produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.
Winner of two Obie Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards as
Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production, this hilarious
comedy demonstrates what happens when a group of devious characters
must deal with a "foreigner." Charlie lands in a remote
fishing lodge in Georgia with a gripping fear of making conversation
with strangers. In an effort to help, pal Froggy introduces the
shy young chap as an exotic non-English speaking foreigner. The
fun really begins, as Charlie overhears more than he should including
sinister plans and devastating revelations made with the thought
that he can't understand a word being said. Nonstop hilarity ensues
and sets up the wildly funny climax in which things go uproariously
awry for the "bad guys," and the "good guys"
emerge triumphant.
Most enjoyable for audiences over 13.
