The Importance of Being Earnest

by Oscar Wilde

Take a walk on the Wilde side with a wholly original production of a classic British comedy. John and Algernon fall madly for two young ladies set on marrying a man named Earnest. Rather than reveal the truth, the two join forces to carry out an elaborate and hilarious ruse involving a fictional brother and an imaginary invalid, leading to much more than the two had counted on. Adapted and directed by CTE Artistic Director Michael J. Smith, CTE takes an original approach to this witty comedy of manners by setting the play in the late 1920s.
