Policies

Wildcat Access Procedures, Policies and Guidelines

Messages can be accepted from the following sources:

  • Administrative and academic departments within the University
  • University-registered and recognized student organizations and clubs

If space becomes limited, priority will be given to messages in the following order:

  • Emergency messages at the direction of the Student Union Operations and Scheduling Services' Manager or the Senior Director of Campus Life
  • Facility related announcements (i.e. power outages, closures, changes in hours)
  • Messages from registered student organizations
  • Messages from all other University administrative and academic departments
  • Commercial advertisements

Messages will not be accepted from the following sources:
Commercial businesses which:

  • Sell or market alcohol products
  • Are recognized as a bar, club, or nightclub
  • Sell or market any type of weapon (i.e. knives, firearms)
  • Provide services of any kind that conflicts with University established contracts
  • Personal ads
  • Political messages and/or endorse candidates (with the exception of candidates for CWU student government elections)
  • Scheduling may deny advertisement which competes with University services and business

The Publicity Center Manager, Student Union Operations and Scheduling Services' Manager, and the Director of Campus Life reserve the right to:

  • Reject messages
  • Alter broadcast times
  • Edit messages for space limitations, content clarity, and aesthetics, in the interest of good broadcasting practices and taste, and in line with the policies of the Student Union & Recreation Center and the University

Additionally:

  • Messages will be accepted through receipt of a Student Union & Recreation Center Wildcat Access Message Form, electronic submission form via web, or through our Promotions Assistant
  • Messages must be received a minimum of two weeks prior to the desired air-date to insure the message will be posted on time
  • Emergency messages will be accepted by phone, fax or email at any time, and are subject to approval by the Student Union Operations and Scheduling Services' Manager
  • The Wildcat Access service will operate during Student Union & Recreation Center building hours including nights and weekends
  • Wildcat Access is updated weekly; in the event of an emergency announcement, daily updates will be provided
  • General announcements will run on an indefinite basis, subject to content reviewed on a weekly basis
