Study Abroad and Exchange Programs (SAEP) provides a wide variety of educational opportunities for you to enhance and internationalize your degree at Central Washington University. In fact, nearly 500 programs are available in over 75 different countries, ranging from a week to an entire school year. In addition, Study Abroad Advsors are available to assist and guide you through the process of identifying and selecting a program that will best fit your academic and personal goals.

Program Options

Faculty-Led Programs
Faculty-Led Programs are short-term programs that enable students to study abroad with a CWU instructor and a group of fellow students. In addition to course lectures, programs often include guided excursions, guest speakers, and cultural performances.
International Student Exchange Program (ISEP)
As a member institution of the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP), CWU students have the opportunity to participate on a full-immersion experience in 138 universities in 38 countries and have access to most courses, services, and activities just like any local student.
Central Sponsored Programs
Through CWU's agreements with various institutions abroad, students can study from a summer up to an entire school year at universities in Argentina, Australia, Chile, China, England, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Poland, Scotland, and Switzerland.
AHA/Northwest Council on Study Abroad (NCSA)

As a member of the Northwest Council on Study Abroad (NCSA), students from CWU have access to the study abroad opportunities available through AHA International.

IE3 Global Internships
IE3 Global Internships are international opportunities that combine the benefits of studying abroad with real-world work experience. Ideal for students during their Junior and Senior years in college, IE3 Global Internships enable students to gain professional experience related to their chosen field before graduating and entering the workforce.
National Student Exchange (NSE)
As a member of the National Student Exchange (NSE), students from CWU can spend from a quarter to an entire school year at one of over 200 institutions throughout the United States, the U.S. territories, and Canada.
Affiliated Programs

Co-Sponsored Programs are study abroad options available to students through CWU's agreements with various study abroad organizations. Programs often include an on-site Resident Director, intensive language courses, guided excursions, and the option of living with a host family as part of an all-inclusive program fee.
