The National Student Exchange (NSE) is a program for undergraduate exchange within the United States or Canada. Instead of crossing oceans, NSE students cross, state, regional, provincial, and cultural borders. Participating in NSE can be exhilarating, culturally enriching, and one of the most significant experiences of your undergraduate education. The changes seen in attitudes, understanding of other people in other settings, flexibility, self-confidence, and decision-making are similar to the experiences of students who study internationally.
Through the National Student Exchange (NSE), CWU students can study for up to one calendar year at another location. With nearly 200 colleges and universities from which to choose, you should be able to find a university with just the right combination of courses, facilities, and environment to meet your academic and peronal needs and interest.
NSE offers two exchange options:
Plan A: Students pay In-state tuition and fees directly to the host institution. Optional on-campus housing and meals are paid directly to the host institution. Students apply for financial aid through the host institution.
Plan B: Students pay their regular tuition and fees at CWU (equivalent to a half-year or full-year at semester sites). Optional on-campus housing and meals are paid directly to the host institution. Students apply for financial aid through CWU. Plan B is only recommended for students with CWU Scholarships or Washington State Grants.
