As a member of the Northwest Council on Study Abroad (NCSA), students from CWU have access to all of the study abroad opportunities available through AHA International. Founded in 1957, the mission of AHA International has been to provide study abroad opportunities that develop students' global perspectives by providing supportive, academically challenging international experiences.
AHA programs are available for a quarter, summer, or full academic year. At most sites, a visiting U.S. American university professor teaches one or two courses; additional courses are then taught by local faculty members. Guided excursions are also included as part of the AHA program fee and all sites include an On-Site Director to assist students during their study abroad experience. In addition, AHA programs provide students with cultural experiences such as home-stays, student groups, and volunteer or internship opportunities.
