I'm Libby Street, professor of psychology at Central Washington University. I arrived at CWU as an assistant professor in 1979 and have maintained a consulting role with Morningside Academy, a research-based laboratory school in Seattle, since that time. In 1994-95 I spent a sabbatical year in Washington, DC where I served as a Congressional Science Fellow in the education office of Senator Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts. In 2010 I returned to full-time teaching following ten years of administrative service, most recently as Interim Vice President for University Advancement.

My current research and teaching interests are the relation of fluency of component skills to composite behavior, reading decoding and reading comprehension, and the influence of the continuum of educational philosophies that is anchored on one end by instructivism and on the other by constructivism on educational practice. I'm a part of the MS in Experimental Psychology - Applied Behavior Analysis faculty.

My husband and colleague, Warren, and I have four children and five grandchildren. Pictures of our family and our travels are on our personal web site.

My hobbies away from work include reading, cooking, music, travel, and Wildcat and WVU Mountaineer football.
