STEP 101

Students gain experience in the scientific process by designing and conducting a variety of scientific studies.

STEP 102

Students conduct a class research project centered on a single broad scientific theme, such as: asteroid impacts and the history and future of the earth; climate changes; impacts of nuclear science and technology.

Students are exposed to different research projects being conducted by faculty and students in science, technology, and mathematics at CWU.

Apply

Applying for admission to STEP

 

We would like to extend an invitation to apply for admission into an exciting program for freshmen at Central: STEP -the Science Talent Enhancement Program.

STEP is designed for incoming freshmen who are interested in science or mathematics. It joins together faculty and students from the fields of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Mathematics, and Physics for a program of hands-on exploration of science and math during a student's first year at Central.

If you are interested in participating in the STEP Program, please download and complete the STEP application form and ask one of your teachers to complete the teacher reference form [both Microsoft Word Documents]. Mail the two forms back to CWU by May 1 to the following address:
