DESCRIPTION OF THE 2009 FUND DRIVE

The 2008 Scholarship Fund Drive was a great success! More than 300 individuals and corporations joined the Wildcat Club and the Athletic Department received in excess of $325k in cash and gifts!

The 2009 campaign will continue to be conducted under the direction and guidance of the Athletic Department and the CWU Wildcat Club.

The Wildcat Club is a group of dedicated people who have committed themselves to support CWU athletics. The Wildcat Club recognizes the value of a successful athletic program to CWU, its students, alumni, friends, and other citizens of Washington State. A successful athletic program is one which is competitive with other successful programs in the conference and the nation. Such level of competitiveness requires considerable financial support for athletic scholarships and related expenses. The Wildcat Club intends to help generate funds sufficient to achieve that goal, and has established this fund drive as its major annual fundraising effort.

The purpose for conducting this fund drive is to increase the amount of funds available for Wildcat athletic scholarships. This will be done in two ways: (1) by adding new members to the Wildcat Club, and (2) by increasing the size of contributions given by continuing members.
