I
am currently a senior at Central Washington University. I am
participating in the yearlong program offered through the Education
Department, which gives me the opportunity to work in three classrooms
at Mt. Stuart Elementary School. I will be student teaching in
the Spring of 2010 through the yearlong program here in Ellensburg.
After graduation I hope to find a teaching job in a Kindergarten
or First Grade classroom somewhere on the East side of the state.
I
moved to Ellensburg from Tumwater, WA where I grew up in the same house
since I was born. All through my childhood and growing up I knew
that I wanted to be a teacher. My elementary school teachers
always remind me when I see them that I used to always act like the
teacher and help other students. I started assisting dance
classes when I was 12 and started teaching dance when I turned 16.
As a senior in high school I participated in the Big Brother's
Big Sister's Program and throughout my college career I have worked
with children ages two through fifteen in classrooms and after school
programs. When I'm not in the classroom and working with
children, I enjoy spending my time exploring the outdoors and watching
football.
