Stipend and Benefits
The intern stipend for academic year 2009-2010 is $22,000. Student membership is the Washington State Psychological Association is paid by the center and an additional $250 stipend for professional education is provided.
Interns are also eligible for free to inexpensive medical care through the Student Health Services and may buy student health insurance that would cover costs for treatment by specialists. Interns have 20 days of personal leave (to be used for vacation and/or sick leave) and 5 days of professional leave in addition to university paid holidays. Consistent with their status as full staff members, approved leave time is "counted" toward the 2000 hour requirement. Leave above and beyond allotted time (e.g., for a serious illness, family emergency, etc.) will not be counted in the accrued hours. In this event, a plan would be developed with the individual intern to "make up" the hours. If an intern wishes to leave the site before August 31st, professional leave or personal leave hours must be used for those days. |
