Outcomes: Teachers of LD Students' Survey Statements
All of the respondents to the spring 2000 teacher survey agreed that the Learning Disabilities and Technology project had the following effects on participating LD students:
- Improved behavior
- Increased motivation to write
- Improved reading and writing skills
- Improved technology skills
- More pride in their work
- More enjoyment of school or enthusiasm for schoolwork
- Improved confidence or self-concept
Additionally, more than 70% agreed that as a result of the project their students:
- Wrote more often and wrote longer papers
- Used better mechanics in their written work
- Received more positive attention from peers
- Had improved attendance
- Had improved relationships with regular education students
- Had increased motivation to read
- Had better organizational skills
- "Students always remembered to bring back their computers every morning."
- "One student keeps his daily planner information on his computer so he doesn't lose it like he would if it was on paper." (This was a verbal comment to SETC staff.)
