Steve Cook
An interpreter for 19 years, primarily in the educational setting, Mr. Cook has worked in a wide variety of venues and has provided interpreting and consulting services for clients ranging from elementary school students to adult education participants.
His current areas of interest include: Language acquisition and learning, the linguistics of ASL, interpreting processes and models, sign language use by non-human primates and the teaching of interpreting. Steve has participated in or presented numerous workshops and seminars, and has planned and coordinated many workshops and events.
Steve is a graduate of the Spokane Falls Community College Interpreter Training Program and of Western Oregon University, majoring in ASL/English Interpretation. He has been an American Sign Language / interpreter educator for 6 years and is currently the American Sign Language Program Coordinator and a Lecturer of American Sign Language at Central Washington University.
