CWU Apartments

Apartments

University Housing currently maintains apartments (studio and one, two and three bedroom) designed for single students, students with families, and staff. Apartments for single and married students are an important component of the overall CWU residential services program. Apartment rates include water, heat, electricity, sewer and refuse services, and TV-FM cable basic service (cable hookups may be purchased at the CWU Bookstore). Except for Brooklane, rates also include basic telephone service (tenants must provide their own telephones). This package system enables residents to make one easy combined payment.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a University-owned apartment at Central, a lessee must be a student maintaining at least seven credit hours of course work (unless an exception is approved in writing by the Director of University Housing and New Student Programs), or be a contracted faculty/staff member of Central Washington University.

Family apartments are rented to students with families, married students (must provide copy of marriage certificate) and new faculty or staff from outside the immediate area. Priority for family housing is given to students with children; eligibility for an apartment may depend on family size. Single students 21 years of age may also apply for family apartments on a space-available basis.

Leadership Opportunities

Tenant Association - Beginning in 1996, tenant associations were formed in the apartment complexes. Presently, Brooklane Village has a Tenants Association. Membership in the association is open to all adult residents. A primary function of the association is to help create and maintain a community atmosphere within the complexes. The association provide a variety of programs and events. Additionally, members make recommendations for the long-range planning of maintenance and renovation projects.

Apartment Managers

Each of the apartment complexes on campus are staffed with one or two apartment managers who are there to assist you. Apartment managers work with you during your check-in and check-out process. They are also there to provide social and educational programming for tenants and to assist with handling other needs such as, facilitating maintenance support or helping with lock out situations.

Each of the apartment managers has designated office hours that are posted on their door and they welcome your inquiries.
