CWU CANCELS CLASSES

Nov. 28, 2001

Contact: Mark Anderson (509-963-1493/fax 509-963-2301/e-mail andemark@cwu.edu)

ELLENSBURG, Wash. - President Jerilyn S. McIntyre has invoked CWU’s Inclement Weather Procedure, effective 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 28.

This procedure means that the university will remain open, but classes on the Ellensburg campus and at the eastside centers in Wenatchee, Yakima and Moses Lake will be cancelled. CWU employees may leave at 3 p.m. with no loss in pay. Facilities Management and Dining Services personnel should report to their supervisors for instructions.

This procedure was invoked due to winter storm conditions and hazardous city and county roads.

All westside classes, except distance education courses, will be held as scheduled unless notification is issued from the centers.

CWU offices and courses will resume operations at their regularly scheduled times Thursday, Nov. 29. If inclement weather conditions continue tomorrow, students, faculty and staff should check 963-2345 or www.cwu.edu for possible closure information.
