ELLENSBURG, Wash. - At its Dec. 6 public meeting in Ellensburg, the Central Washington University board of trustees will receive an update from President Jerilyn S. McIntyre concerning the university?s market study.
Earlier this year, CWU contracted with Stamats Communications, Inc., to conduct an initial market study of Central's potential for recruitment of students in several geographic regions of the state. The study determined that the marketplace has a favorable impression of CWU; however, specifics about academic programs were not well known.
The next phase will be to retain a consultant for the purpose of developing and implementing marketing strategies for the university.
Gwen Chaplin, Yakima, chairs the eight-member board that will meet at 1 p.m. in Barge Hall 412 on the Ellensburg campus. The meeting will be televised live on Ellensburg Community Television (ECTV) and KCWU TV, channels 2 and 15 respectively, for local cable subscribers.
Prior to its Thursday afternoon meeting, the CWU governing board will conduct an 8 a.m. meeting with McIntyre in Barge 410; and hold committee meetings at 10 a.m. in Barge 304.
At noon, trustees will host a luncheon for selected students in Barge 410.
At the 1 p.m. meeting, trustees will hear reports on Kamola Hall restoration, the student union and recreation center projects, and will consider revisions to board bylaws and the appointing and contracting authority. The board is also slated to take action on the university?s strategic plan.
The consent agenda includes a variety of faculty and exempt staff personnel actions and reports.
