ELLENSBURG, Wash. - A total of 206 Kittitas County youngsters and their families will celebrate the holidays this year with a little help from Central Washington University.
Through Friday, Dec. 14, university faculty and staff are donating gifts to the annual CWU “Adopt a Child Program.”
“This is a wonderful opportunity for us to share with the children of our community,” CWU President Jerilyn S. McIntyre, says.
Gifts will be delivered to needy children, from infants to teens, and families. Recipients were selected by officials with Head Start/Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program of Kittitas County (ECEAP) and the Ellensburg office of the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS).
Through the program, university personnel sign up to provide a gift for a particular girl, boy or family. The wrapped gifts are marked with the person’s identifying number.
The first donated gifts arrived in the president’s office today (Monday, Dec. 3).
