Officials from Central Washington University (CWU) and Edmonds Community College will break ground for a new joint higher education center Tuesday, June 26, at 11:30 a.m.
The building, a first-of-its-kind in Washington, will be built specifically for use by both a community college and a university. Construction will begin on the $17.4 million project next October. "Snoqualmie Hall" is scheduled for completion in June 2002.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, presidents Jerilyn S. McIntyre, from CWU, and Jack Oharah, from Edmonds Community College, will make some brief remarks. They will also sign a memorandum of understanding to ensure collaborative planning far into the future in order to provide new opportunities and greater access to higher education.
This event will be held on the Edmonds Community College campus, take the 200th Street entrance to campus and follow the parking lot signs to the staging area.
