Ellensburg, WA - Tickets are now on sale for the Central Washington University theatre arts 2000-01 season finale "Italian American Reconciliation," by John Patrick Shanley, which opens May 17 in the Tower Theatre.

Shanley, author of the Academy Award-winning "Moonstruck," penned this enchanting romantic romp in which everyone learns a little bit about men, a little bit about women and a lot more about amoré!

The comedy is directed by CWU theatre arts chair Brenda Hubbard, who also serves as set co-designer along with senior theatre arts major, Rhianna Peterson, from Ellensburg. Fellow senior theatre arts majors Boann Petersen, Seattle, and Heidi Humrich, Cashmere, are the lighting and costume designer, respectively.

Dinner performances are scheduled May 18 and 19 and June 1 and 2, with the meal served at 6 p.m. and the show at 8 p.m. There will also be a lunch matinee May 20 at noon, with a 2 p.m. performance.

The menu, prepared by CWU Dining Services, features spaghetti, meatballs, bread, antipasto salad, fresh vegetables and cannolis for dessert. Vegetarian options are also available. Meals include water, coffee and tea. Soft drinks and wine will be available for purchase. Dinner and lunch show tickets are $15 and advanced reservations are required.

Show-only performances are slated May 17, 30 and 31 at 7 p.m. A no-host bar will also be open for these performances. Advanced reservations are recommended. Tickets are $6.

All shows and meals will be held in Tower Theatre.

"Italian American Reconciliation" tickets can be purchased by phone with a VISA or MasterCard at (509) 963-1774. The Tower Theatre box office is open weekdays from noon to 5 p.m. Those under the age of 12 will not be admitted, including babes in arms.
