ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Central Washington University's Classic Film Series continues with “Life on a String,” a 1991 drama from China that will be screened Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. in McConnell Auditorium.

The story is of a blind boy who is promised by his mentor that he will eventually regain his sight if he devotes his life to music. The boy becomes a blind old man who regards music as a path to higher truth.

Director Kaige Chen won the Golden Tulip award for this film at the 1992 Istanbul International Film Festival. The 110-minute film in Mandarin has English subtitles.

Tickets for each feature in the CWU Classic Film Series are $3 for single admission, and $12 for a bargain pass of five admissions. Single admission tickets are available at the door. Bargain passes are available at the Samuelson Union Building (SUB) Information Booth, CWU English department and Jerrol’s.
