Stress-management, relaxation and related fitness options will be the focus of Central Washington University's Spa Day Health Fair on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Samuelson Union Building, the free, public event will showcase holistic health care and provide interactive booths with community health providers, including local gyms, acupuncture, massage, yoga and other health and wellness practitioners, and CWU clubs and organizations. "The overall purpose is to promote holistic well being which includes psychological, emotional and physical health," says Megan Schmidt, event planner. "Our goal is to help students identify resources, both on campus and within the community, for their health needs." Additionally, representatives from the CWU Health, Counseling and Wellness Center, which is sponsoring the event, will be on had to offer pertinent information and provide free flu shots to university students, if supplies are available. Dependent upon availability, meningitis vaccinations may also be offered for between $70 and $90, which can be billed to a student's university account. CWU students will also be eligible to enter raffle drawings and prize giveaways including gift certificates for gym memberships, and outdoor clothing and equipment.
