ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Tickets are on sale for the Central
Washington University theatre arts department season opener, “Hay
Fever,” by Noel Coward, which opens Nov. 14 in the Tower Theatre.
“Hay Fever” takes you on a weekend holiday in the English
countryside with the Bliss family. Each self-absorbed member of the
Bohemian family has invited an unsuspecting romantic prospect for the
weekend, without informing the others.
The guests and the rain arrive right on schedule, leaving the
group trapped indoors with all the ensuing chaos one might expect in a
witty, sophisticated Coward comedy. Watching the activities of the
Bliss family is a delightful way to escape to 1920's, England and it
will make you feel very good about your own family, no matter how
dreadful it is.
Directed by CWU theatre arts professor Brenda Hubbard with
set design by guest artist Tim Stapleton, “Hay Fever” runs Nov. 14-17
and 21-23.
Tower Theatre box office hours for fall quarter are weekdays
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and one hour prior to each performance. Tickets can
also be purchased by phone with a VISA or MasterCard.
“We are urging our patrons to purchase tickets in advance,”
says Leslee Caul, director of marketing and development, “because our
seating capacity is limited in the Tower Theatre. Tickets may not be
available if you wait to get them at the door.”
“Hay Fever” tickets are $10 general admission, $9 for senior
citizens, and $8 for students. Senior citizens are those persons 65 and
older. All students with valid student identification qualify for
student pricing.
