ELLENSBURG, Wash. - David Spade, one of the breakout stars from “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) and now one of the hottest comedic actors in television and motion pictures, will be the featured entertainment for Central Washington University’s Homecoming festivities this year.

Spade will perform his stand-up act on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. in Nicholson Pavilion on the Ellensburg campus. General admission tickets are $28, and can be purchased in advance at the CWU Samuelson Union Building (SUB) Information Booth, Jerrol’s Book and Supply in Ellensburg, Off The Record in Yakima, or Avalon Music in Wenatchee.

From his seven-year stint on SNL, to his roles in the movies “Tommy Boy,” “Joe Dirt,” “Rugrats” and “The Emperor’s New Groove,” as well as the character Dennis Finch that he now portrays on the NBC sitcom “Just Shoot Me,” Spade has garnered a wide fan base. His latest film, “Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star,” is now in production and will be released next year.

Spade, even with a hit sitcom and lead acting/writing credits, has recently returned to his roots as a standup comedian. His performance at CWU follows last weekend’s appearance at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. In addition to television, film and touring, Spade is a frequent guest on late-night shows such as “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” as well as a presenter at awards shows such as the MTV Movie Awards, ESPY’s and Grammy Awards.
