CWU Governing Board To Meet With Faculty

ELLENSBURG, Wash.-- The Central Washington University board of trustees (BOT) begins its work for the current academic year with two days of meetings, Thursday and Friday, Oct. 9-10, on the Ellensburg campus.

The BOT met with faculty on Thursday. Board members conducted concurrent sessions with faculty members in the morning and early afternoon, had lunch with the faculty senate executive committee, hosted an open forum for all faculty members and held a reception for faculty who received promotion and tenure.

During its regular meeting Friday at 1 p.m., the trustees will likely approve the state auditor's reports of the university's financial statements, housing and athletic departments, take action on a number of personnel appointments and several facilities projects, and discuss items such as student and association guidelines and campus diversity.

CWU also bids adieu to trustee Gwen Chaplin, who served for 10 years as a CWU board member, seven as chair.
