CWU Names Interim Dean for College of Education and Professional Studies

November 15, 2007

ELLENSBURG, Wash.--Central Washington University has announced the appointment of Dr. Connie Lambert as interim dean for the College of Education and Professional Studies. Lambert has been the associate dean for professional education in the College of Education and Professional Studies since 2001.

"Dr. Lambert was selected from a pool of strong finalists for the position," says David Soltz, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at CWU. "She has the right combination of administrative experience, NCATE knowledge and experience, and knowledge of the college that will provide the continuity that the college needs at this important time in its history."

Dr. Lambert earned her Ph.D. in special education from the University of Washington, her M.S. in early childhood special education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and her B.S. in behavioral sciences from the University of Southern Colorado.

"I appreciate all the support I've received from faculty and staff from within the college and across the university," says Lambert. "I'm honored to serve as the interim dean and look forward to continuing to work with the exceptional faculty and staff in the college."

Lambert's appointment is effective immediately and will continue until a new dean is selected through a national search process.

"We look forward to Dr. Lambert's leadership of the entire college as we advance the mission of each department and address the conditions imposed by the PESB and NCATE," adds Soltz.
