ELLENSBURG, Wash. - How much time do you spend thinking about the water in your area and how it affects you? Two Central Washington University resource management students have put much thought into this topic. In fact, they'll present their research findings on water resource management in a colloquium this week.

Emily Carter, CWU graduate student, will present "Management of Coastal Processes at Washington State Parks," on Thursday, Nov. 18, at noon in Science Building 101. Carter, who holds a bachelor's degree in geography, lists her research interests as water resources, coastal zone management and riparian habitats.

Carter's presentation will be followed by a second from Jan Naragon, a resource management student with undergraduate degrees in anthropology and Spanish from CWU. Her areas of emphasis include water resources, water policy and public health research. Naragon's lecture, titled "Linkages Between Water Policy and Infant Health in the Lower Yakima Valley," combines the cultural and natural aspects of the resource management program at CWU.

The colloquium is free and open to the public. For more information, or for persons of disability to arrange for reasonable accommodation, call (509) 963-1188 or (for the hearing impaired) TDD (509) 963-2143.
