ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Twenty-five students from Central Washington University, including the Associated Students of Central Washington University board of directors President Tony Aronica and Executive Vice President Chris Casey, have announced plans to dedicate their entire Christmas break to aid the Red Cross in its humanitarian relief efforts.

"I heard the opportunity was available and I wanted to go," Aronica says. "I thought others should go too, because it's an incredible way to represent Central."

This group of students, dubbed "The 500 Club," will be split into two teams - Aronica will lead one and Casey the other - to a specific Red Cross destination for more than 500 hours of community service. The Red Cross will provide housing and food for the CWU volunteers, who will depart on Sunday, Dec. 11, and return Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006.
