CWU PARKING ADVISORY COMMITTEE MAKES CHANGES

ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Central Washington University’s parking advisory committee approved several changes during its spring quarter meetings, according to Lt. Kevin Higgins, CWU public safety and police services.

The changes include:

  • Lot X12, at the corner of 18th & Walnut, will be a free parking lot from mid June to mid September to accommodate parking for summer programs. But, X12 will be changed from a free to a discount lot for the 2003-04 academic year. The V7, at 18th and D, and X22, at 18th and Alder, lots will remain free parking areas;
  • Overnight parking will again be prohibited in the H15 lot, at 10th and Chestnut, effective Sept. 1, while overnight parking will be allowed in L8, near the Science Building, effective June 1;
  • C1, at the corner of 8th and Pearl, will be changed from a general lot to a discount lot and N19, north of Quigley Hall, from a discount to a general lot effective Sept. 1;
  • Residents of Alford Montgomery, Carmody Munro, Kennedy and Green halls, and Student Village will be required to purchase a university parking permit to use lots T22, U22 and V22, off Alder Street between Dean Nicholson Boulevard and 18th Ave., beginning with the 2003-04 academic year.
