Fifth Annual Memorial Service To Honor CWU Faculty, Staff And StudentsMay 22, 2008 ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Central Washington University students, current and past employees, and elected or appointed officials and others who have influenced CWU who died during the past year will be remembered Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Central's fifth annual "CWU Remembers" memorial service. Central established this annual service as a time to pause and reflect on the contributions of loved ones and friends of the university and on the ways in which their lives and work are intertwined with those at CWU. The service is at Noon in the Music Building Recital Hall. CWU President Jerilyn S. McIntyre will preside over the ceremony, which will include a Kairos Quartet performance, a poem written by CWU English professor Josheph Powell and recited by Judy Miller, executive secretary to the president, and a reading by CWU professor of psychology Warren Street. Flags on Central's campus will be lowered to half-mast and remain lowered for one week following the ceremony to honor the university students, current and past employees, and friends who have made significant, positive impacts on the university community.
