CWU Orchesis Raises Curtain On Annual Spring Dance Event

ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Central Washington University's Orchesis Dance Company will once again take the stage and display their unique dance styles at the annual Spring Dance Concert May 29, 30 and 31 at 7 p.m. in McConnell Auditorium.

This year's show combines many different styles of dance including modern, tap and ballet. Showcased in this year's performance will be 14 different dances created by nine different choreographers.

Some of the highlights include a modern solo choreographed and performed by Hannah Crowley to an original composition by her brother, William. In addition, seniors, Golda Lund and Lisa Soranaka will perform a fast paced tap duet. This year's performance will also include a spicy tango choreographed by Orchesis Director Therese Young, and a modern piece entitled Plutonium choreographed by senior Jessica Poulsen.

Doors open each night at 6:30 p.m. and the performances begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the door and are $8 for general admission and $5 for students.
