ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Central Washington University’s chapter of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Straight Alliance (GLBTSA) will celebrate its 3rd Annual PrideFest Monday through Thursday, May 20 to 23. .
GLBTSA officials say the events are designed to heighten awareness of gay issues by bringing students together through education and entertainment.
The week’s events, scheduled for noon in the Samuelson Union Building (SUB) Pit, will include:
- Monday, May 20: “Guess the straight” panel;
- Wednesday, May 22: Sons and Daughters of Gays and Lesbians Panel;
- And, Thursday, May 23: Gay Karaoke.
In addition, GLBTSA will have an informational booth set up in the SUB to provide information about gay issues.
The week’s activities will culminate Thursday at 5 p.m. with music and a barbecue on the Barto Hall lawn, including a dating game, karaoke and a drag competition with prizes.
