CWU To Host Public Meeting On Campus Growth

ELLENSBURG, Wash.-- In accordance with the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA), Central Washington University will host a public hearing Tuesday, March 30, at 7 p.m. to hear public comments on several construction projects, including the Student Union Recreation Center (SUB/REC). The meeting will be held in the Columbia Room of the Ellensburg Inn.

A Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (DSEIS) document will be available for public review at the meeting. The DSEIS is a supplement to the CWU Master Plan Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) of December 1998. Both the DSEIS and the original FEIS document are available in the CWU Brooks Library and at the Ellensburg Chamber of Commerce.

This DSEIS for SUB/REC contains the following components:

  • SUB/REC construction project;
  • SUB/REC parking improvements;
  • East campus parking master plan, including relocating Wilson Creek;
  • Puget Sound Energy Transmission Line relocation; and,
  • Construction of a Dining Services storage warehouse.
