CWU Master's Engineering Technology Courses AnnouncedMarch 24, 2004Contact: Dr. Juan P. Robertson (206-878-3710 ext. 5170/e-mail: jroberts@highline.edu) DES MOINES, Wash.-- Central Washington University's master of science in engineering technology (MSET) degree program at CWU-SeaTac Center at Highline Community College will continue to offer a series of classes, specifically designed for practicing industrial, mechanical, manufacturing and electrical engineers and technologists, technology education teachers, and faculty in two- or four-year colleges. Beginning March 29, students will be able to attend classes two evenings each week throughout the quarter, from 5 to 9 p.m., completing their degree in two years. Non-matriculated students also can attend individual classes on a space-available basis. The courses to be offered this quarter include: industrial and engineering technology (IET) 585, ergonomics; IET 523, emerging technologies; and, IET 583, ceramics and composites. This program serves working professionals and provides breadth in engineering and technology knowledge, practice, and technique in order to broaden career potentials and options. The degree will usually be accomplished within a cohort of students who progress together through three quarters of two classes each, then a summer off, and another year of two classes each quarter. The degree program, including multidisciplinary classes, is led by instructors with strong academic and industrial experience, according to Dr. Juan Robertson, Puget Sound coordinator for the CWU MSET program.
