CWU AND WVC GOVERNING BOARDS TO MEET IN WENATCHEE

ELLENSBURG, Wash. - The Central Washington University board of trustees (BOT) will meet this week in Wenatchee. The board holds one meeting a year at one of its university centers and uses the opportunity to meet with community college governing boards to discuss issues of common interest.

The BOT will meet with the Wenatchee Valley College (WVC) governing board Thursday, March 14 at Wenatchee Golf and Country Club. They will be joined by CWU President Jerilyn S. McIntyre and WVC President Jack Beckerer.

CWU board members will convene at 8 a.m. Friday, March 15 with McIntyre at the WVC campus and participate in committee meetings at 10:30 a.m.

At their 1 p.m. business meeting Friday, trustees will receive legislative and hiring updates from McIntyre and hear reports from the CWU faculty senate, Associated Students of CWU board of directors and staff organizations.

BOT members will also discuss proposals for a special education broad area major and an increase in health and counseling charges. They are expected to vote on a services and activities budget, a revision to the drug and alcohol policy and flexible spending accounts.
