CWU Conducts Two Commencement Ceremonies in EllensburgELLENSBURG, Wash. - Central Washington University will conduct two commencement ceremonies on Saturday, June 10, at Tomlinson Stadium on Walnut Street, one block north of Dean Nicholson Boulevard/14th Avenue in Ellensburg. This year's commencement will be Central's 115th and the first in which the university has conducted two Ellensburg ceremonies split by college. Graduates of the College of Education & Professional Studies and the College of Business will be awarded their degrees at the first ceremony, which begins at 9:30 a.m. The student graduation speaker for the first ceremony will be Roxanne S. Carlile, a Tacoma native. A second ceremony will begin at 1:30 for graduates of the College of Arts and Humanities, the College of the Sciences, and general and individual study majors. The student speaker will be Marty Maley, whose hometown is Kennewick. The commencement speaker for both ceremonies will be state Rep. Janéa Holmquist (R-Moses Lake). Holmquist is a leading proponent of bio-fuels in the state House of Representatives, where she is the ranking minority member on the Housing Committee and serves on the panel overseeing the state's performance audit agency, the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee. Tickets are not required for family members who wish to attend commencement on June 10, which may include graduates from all CWU Campuses: CWU-Des Moines, CWU-Ellensburg, CWU-Lynnwood, CWU-Moses Lake, CWU-Pierce County, CWU-Wenatchee, and CWU-Yakima.
