State Student Employee Of The Year From Central

ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- Central Washington University's Ravae Rossmaier was honored as the 2008 Washington State Association of Student Employment Administrators (WSASEA) Student Employee of the Year, which includes a $100 savings bond. Rossmaier, who graduated in June from Central and from Rainier High School in 2004, was named Central's 2008 Student Employee of the Year earlier this spring. At Central she majored in business administration and psychology and worked as a student assistant in the College of Business pre-major advising center.

Aside from a small break to study abroad in New Zealand for six months, Rossmaier worked in the College of Business since September 2006. She was instrumental in developing and implementing the College of Business group orientation and advising sessions and running the college's annual Economic Outlook Conference. She also served on the Dean's Council as the student liaison for events.

"As a frontline student serving students, I am doing my best to make their Wildcat experience positive, productive and memorable," said Rossmaier of her work at Central.

Rossmaier maintained a 3.8 grade point average and is now pursuing a career in management. Her long-term goal is to run her own lodge. She currently runs a Yakima-based fly-fishing guide service, Angler's Obsession, with her boyfriend, Aaron O'Leary.
